Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s Historic District House Tour
Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s Historic District House Tour lets guests step inside some of Morristown’s most extraordinary private homes from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 4.
A rare opportunity offered only once every two years, this year’s self-guided tour features seven beautiful private residences, a featured garden, the historic Kellogg Club and Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, creating a rich and varied experience that celebrates the architecture, landscapes, and history of Morristown’s Historic District, according to organizers.
Guests will begin the day at Macculloch Hall Historical Museum, where they will receive a guidebook before exploring the museum’s 216-year-old historic house, galleries, and gardens. From there, they can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Historic District, visiting each featured property in any order they choose, with every location conveniently within walking distance of the museum.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the district showcases more than two centuries of architectural design, from elegant Georgian and Classical influences to the ornate beauty of Queen Anne Victorian homes. Whether a history enthusiast, architecture lover, gardener or simply curious to see behind doors that are rarely open to the public, this tour offers a glimpse into one of New Jersey’s most significant historic neighborhoods.
As Macculloch Hall Historical Museum’s largest fundraiser, every ticket purchased directly supports the museum’s mission to preserve its historic house and gardens, care for its nationally significant collections, and provide year-round educational programs that inspire learners of all ages.
Tickets are limited. To reserve a spot, the cost is $75 in advance and $85 day-of, subject to availability. This event is rain or shine. Macculloch Hall is located at 45 MacCulloch Ave., Morristown.
